There are 2 options for this workshop:
Option 1: Full Week with Lodging and Transportation:
September 20-26, 2020
This photography workshop is an opportunity to photograph wild elk in Pennsylvania with instruction from an award winning wildlife photographer during the rut season where the large male or bull elk often fight over the cows (females) for breeding rights. This is the only time of year you will also have the opportunity to hear an elk bugle. The elk are generally active for a few hours in the morning and again in late afternoon. This will give us an opportunity to review/critique images to see what areas to focus on and discuss editing techniques back at the hotel.
This area has become very popular for elk viewing. The town where the larger number of elk are is very small with not many places to stay therefor we will stay in a hotel roughly 30 mins away but transportation to the elk from the hotel will be provided. Please keep in mind that hotels here fill very fast so the earlier you book the better! I have been photographing these elk for many years and do my best to avoid the crowds. We will also focus on getting the water crossing photos since that is what is most requested.
Whats Included: Photography instruction in a small group setting. Hotel stay. Transportation to the elk viewing sites from the hotel. If you are interested in learning video techniques I will also be teaching that (see below video I made for examples). Photoshop and Lightroom tutorials as well as image critiques if you'd like. Also as a bonus if we have clear night skies we will squeeze in some night shooting if interested.
The cost of the workshop for option 1:
$1700 Per person if traveling alone, $1200 per person if sharing a room with someone.
Daily tour with no hotels. You can sign up for one day (or as many as you'd like). We will meet at a location near the elk and I can transport you from there to the different locations nearby where we will photograph the elk.
Dates: Any day(s) September 12 - October 5th
No Included: Meals. Transportation to Pennsylvania.
The cost of the workshop:
$150 per person/per day. Discounts available for multiple days if consecutive dates.
Payment is due at the time of booking
